Pune City Tamil Sangam organised a picnic for its members at CHONDHE FORM on 13th October 2019. A location at 33km from the city at Lonikand; couldn’t have been better for an ideal PICNIC rendezvous. The venue, apart from the large area, had many adventure activities, indoor and outdoor activities too.
The day started with the members assembling at the venue at 9 am and beginning with a good breakfast consisting of poha, idly chutney, sambar followed by coffee and tea.
The events started with a small ice breaker game where every member introduced themselves with each other in a unique way stating their likes. Now the Chondhe farm representative Rohit took over and offered us the various out-door adventure activities which you can see in the accompanying photographs. The out-door activities included bullock cart ride cycling, swimming, rain dance etc.
The activities generated a good appetite for a lovely lunch. The lunch was sumptuous with bakri and pitla, chapathi, dhal fry, paneer masala, bindi fry, fryams , salad, pickle and buttermilk. This was good enough to keep us going till tea time.
The afternoon was indoor entertainment and games. Before we started the afternoon session the secretary welcomed the picnickers and then solemnly announced the sad demise of our member D B Saxena and requested the members to observe a 1 minute silence on behalf of the departed soul.
Then the secretary announced the next event for the members – MUSIC PROGRAM by Marthi/Hindi play back singer Abhilasha on 17th of November 2019 at Nehru Memorial Hall. He also introduced the managing committee members and the new members who had joined the Sangam recently. The volunteers were also introduced and acknowledged. 15th October being the birth day of our late President Dr. Abdul Kalam the Sangam remembered him and a few of the members spoke eloquently about him remembering his simple living and high ideals.
This was followed by fun games for adults and children. The winners took home the prizes happily.
The event filled day came to a close with high tea and a group photo.
